HFM BOCES
offers GED test preparation
January orientation classes offered in Amsterdam's Riverfront Center
HFM BOCES will offer GED class orientation sessions on
Wednesday, Jan. 13 and Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the FMCC
satellite location, downstairs in the Riverfront Center in
Amsterdam. Potential GED students must attend both days of
orientation.
Each session begins promptly at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.
The orientation classes are for adults, age 21 and older,
who want to prepare for the GED exam. A few openings are
available for individuals age 18 - 20 who are no longer
enrolled in school.
GED classes are offered Monday and Wednesday evenings from
6-9 p.m. in the Montgomery County Literacy Project
classroom, also located on the lower level of the Riverfront
Center in Amsterdam.
During the orientation sessions students will learn about
the program, register and participate in assessment. It is
important that students arrive on time and plan to stay for
the full 3 hours. Students must bring a pen and pencil and a
photocopy of a picture ID with birth date.
Anyone interested in joining a class must call HFM BOCES at
736-4340 to reserve a seat. Voice mail is available 24 hours
a day. Callers should leave their name, age, address, phone
number and their intent to attend GED orientation on January
13 and 20.
