Students in Mr. Schuyler’s US History class visited the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site in Fort Hunter recently. They had learned about the Erie Canal in class, and the trip served to encourage an affinity for visiting and appreciating local historic sites. Students heard from historian Dave Brooks, who challenged them to discuss the purpose and importance of artifacts displayed in the exhibit. He also led them on a walk along the Schoharie Creek to see the work being done to stabilize the aqueduct.
