Students from the HFM PTECH Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) won three statewide awards at the Spring State Leadership Conference, which took place April 11-13 in Binghamton.
Four PTECH students — Cierra Mason, Rane Dutcher, Brianna Rymarz and Aislynn Ward — represented the 2-year-old chapter in its first-ever trip to states. During the conference, students attended leadership workshops and competed in events that test business, leadership and technology skills, as well as decision-making.
Dutcher, a junior from Gloversville, won first place in computer applications. Mason, a junior from Northville, won first place in marketing. The chapter also won Outstanding New Chapter, a statewide award.
FBLA is the largest career-related student organization in the world. Its focus is on leadership development, academic competition, and community service.
