“I am beyond excited to join the PTECH team and look forward to working with all the staff, students, families, and community partners,” said Haggerty. Her first day on the job was Jan. 21.

In addition to her day-to-day duties, Haggerty will work closely with PTECH college liaisons at both SUNY FMCC and SUNY Cobleskill to ensure a smooth trajectory for students. She will also be a key resource in PTECH’s efforts to recruit the best candidates for the program and will assist students with navigating the complexity of high school while taking college courses.

“Erika was an exceptional candidate and has already demonstrated that she will be a strong leader,” said HFM PTECH Principal Celeste Keane. “We are fortunate to have her on our team, and I am confident she will be a great asset to our program.”

Haggerty comes to HFM PTECH after serving as a counselor in the Oneida City School District for the past 9 years. She also served as the district’s director of counseling services for the last six years. Prior to her time in Oneida, she was a counselor at Anclote High School in Pasco County, Florida where she launched her career in education.

A graduate of Little Falls High School, Haggerty attended the State University of New York at Cortland where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She went on to obtain her master’s degree in education from the State University of New York at Oneonta.

Haggerty said she looks forward to getting to meet all the students and work with them on achieving success through the program’s college and career pathways.

“My passion, working as a counselor for 12 years, has always been to make students college and career ready,” said Haggerty. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the PTECH family, where students are getting the opportunity to get a jumpstart on their future.”

Haggerty resides in Dolgeville with her two daughters, Ava and Sophie. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and coaching her daughters youth sports teams. A lover of the great outdoors, Haggerty also enjoys hiking, skiing, and boating.
