Adirondack Academy and HFM Career and Technical Education (CTE) are among the beneficiaries of the 2024-2025 Stewart’s Shops’ Holiday Match program with each receiving a $500 donation recently.
From Thanksgiving Day through Christmas Day, Stewart’s customers donated more than $850,000 to the program. Each individual donation was then doubled by Stewart’s Shops with $1.77 million being allocated to non-profit organizations impacting children across 32 counties in upstate New York and southern Vermont where Stewart’s Shops are located.
Adirondack Academy plans to use its donation to support the school store, a vital component of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. This initiative rewards students with points for positive behavior and academic achievements, which they can redeem for snacks, beverages, gift cards, and more.
School social worker Allison Csernai expressed her gratitude for the ongoing support from the Saratoga Springs-based convenience store chain.
“We’re thrilled to receive these funds again,” said Csernai. “This generous contribution allows us to celebrate our scholars’ hard work and success.”
Adirondack Academy serves students who face challenges in traditional school environments by offering small class sizes and fostering a close-knit community. The alternative education program emphasizes personalized attention and strong relationships with staff to encourage student growth and success.
Meanwhile, HFM CTE will allocate its donation to student scholarships, recognizing individuals who demonstrate determination, diligence, and a positive attitude. Administrative Coordinator Kristina Marshall shared her appreciation for Stewart’s continued partnership.
“We are deeply grateful for the consistent generosity of Stewart’s Shops,” said Marshall. “Their support not only through Holiday Match, but also through programs like our attendance rewards is invaluable.”
Since its inception in 1986, the Stewart’s Holiday Match program has contributed nearly $40 million to organizations enriching the lives of children and strengthening communities.
